Jenny, an English teacher in an urban high school who is supporting her dying mother, not only has to face gang boys daily but she must also sidestep Lori, her overly demanding administrator, a prior lesbian lover, who is seeking revenge on Jenny for leaving her.
In a fit of rage Jenny retaliates and Lori dies. The consequences of confessing could mean that Jenny would lose her job and her fiancé, Norman, but not confessing might give her constant nightmares and an internal conflict with another person being blamed.
